Let’s contribute to World Leprosy Day by raising awareness, breaking stigmas. and supporting those affected by leprosy.
Let’s work together to promote early detection, compassion, and a future where no one faces this disease alone.
Leprosy, caused by Mycobacterium leprae, affects the skin and nerves, leading to disability and social stigma. Though not highly contagious, early detection and treatment with multi-drug therapy can prevent severe complications and reduce transmission. Close contact with infected individuals should be avoided, and those exposed should undergo medical monitoring for at least five years.
