On Saturday and Sunday, February 19th-20th 2022, AMSA-Unhas held an event for high-school students who wants to know about Medical Faculty better. This event is called AMSA-Unhas Fair 2022, which is an annual activity aimed at middle school and high school students, or high school graduates, where the participants can figure out what it feels like to become a medical students for a day.
This year's AMSA-Unhas Fair is different. The event was held in 2 days, where the first day was held online and the last day offline.
On the first day, the activity was opened by this year’s Project Officer of AMSA-Unhas Fair and AMSA-Unhas Representative 2021/2022. The event then continued with the participants took part in a TryOut provided by Amsterdam Institute. After finishing a tough and brain-draining session, the participants had some fun on the Ice Breaking Session. The event then followed by an exciting talkshow with dr. Ayman Alatas, who certainly made the participants' mood much better and interested about the medical students’ life. After getting a lot of new knowledge and insights, a QnA session started with a lot of interesting questions. The first day is pretty much about what is it feels like to be a medical students, the facts and myths about medical life, etc.
The last day began with a Swab Test for the participants and committees who would take part in this event. The second day was all about how to be not only a good doctor, but a different doctor. This session was brought to the participants by dr. Raissa Alfaathir Heri, Sp.N. After the seminar, participants asked a lot of great question to dr. Raissa. In the afternoon, participants joined a Clinical Skill Lab (CSL) session which consisted of five stations, including nasopharyngeal swab skills and blood pressure measurement skills. The last day was ended with an Awarding session.
We thank the participants who have joined us in this event with great enthusiasm from the first day to the end of AMSA-Unhas Fair 2022. Hopefully this event can be a place that can motivate the participants to become future doctor candidates. We also thank dr. Ayman Alatas and dr. Raissa Alfaathir Heri, Sp. N who has joined us to provide a lot of great insights for the participants, as well as the Amsterdam Institute who has been willing to work together to make the AMSA-Unhas Fair event successful.
