On the 15th, 17th, and 18th of June 2023, AMSA-Unhas organized the AMSA-Unhas Community Service and Education (ACTION) 2023 event, which is a community service initiative involving direct action with the community. ACTION 2023 consisted of circumcision activities in the village of Samangki, Maros, South Sulawesi, and health checkups at the Lapangan Umum BTP in Makassar.
On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the implementation of ACTION 2023 began with training for AMSA-Unhas members who would serve as the medical team. It started with circumcision training, followed by a Q&A session, and then continued with small group sessions. This allowed AMSA-Unhas members who would be part of the medical team to better understand the circumcision procedure and health checkups that would be conducted.
Subsequently, on June 17, 2023, the medical team gathered and set off for the village of Samangki, Maros, South Sulawesi, to carry out the circumcision activities. The local community welcomed this activity warmly. On the following day, on June 18, 2023, the activities continued with health checkups at the Lapangan Umum BTP in Makassar.
Hopefully through the community service activities of ACTION 2023, AMSA-Unhas members can fulfill the role and function as medical students in helping to support and improve the health status of the community.
